2023 School Placement Announcement
The Ghana Education Service notifies parents, students, and the public that the 2023 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVET) is now active as of November 28, 2023.
Out of 598,839 results received from WAEC, 585,797 candidates qualified, with 477,772 (81.56%) automatically placed in their choices—an improvement from the previous year. However, 108,025 (18.44%) qualified candidates require Self-Placement to choose from available schools. To access the platform:
- Obtain a placement pin code from an approved vendor.
- Log onto WW.cssps.gov.gh
- Enter the ten-digit index number with ’23’ as the year of completion (e.g., 123456789023).
- Enter pin code details and click submit to view/print enrollment form, placement slip, and prospectus.
Self-Placement Module:
If not matched automatically, redirect to the Self-Placement Portal and provide:
- Region
- Residential preference
- School
- Programme of choice
Click submit, print the form, and visit the school to begin the admission process. Changes can be made until enrollment.
Ghana Education Service assures all students, especially those not matched automatically, that schools with vacancies are uploaded for seamless self-placement. The process is merit-based, and caution is advised against paying to change schools.
Heads of Institutions commence registration and orientation from December 4, 2023. For assistance, contact the helpline at 0308258001, in addition to National and Regional Solution Centres.
