“74 Ghanaian Nationals to be Evacuated from Sudan and Arrive in Accra on May 2”

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, a group of 74 Ghanaian nationals will be airlifted from Addis Ababa to Accra on Tuesday, May 2. This is part of an ongoing effort to evacuate Ghanaian nationals from the conflict-torn region of Sudan.

The statement also indicated that 76 Ghanaians had successfully crossed the Sudan-Ethiopia border with the help of Ghana Embassy officials in Ethiopia and were currently in Addis Ababa. Additionally, two engineers and one footballer had been assisted by embassy officials in Egypt to cross the Egyptian border post of Wadi Halfa, and two other footballers were going through immigration formalities.

The Ministry assured Ghanaians in Sudan of its commitment to evacuate them to safety in neighboring countries like Egypt and Ethiopia.
