On February 20, during the appearance of Trade and Industry Minister-nominee KT Hammond before the Appointments Committee of Parliament, an exchange occurred between him and Kwame Governs Agbodza, who is the Member of Parliament for Adaklu and also the Minority Chief Whip.
During the exchange, Agbodza asked about two achievements of Hammond during his two previous stints as deputy minister between 2001 and 2009. However, Agbodza later had to call Hammond to order, accusing him of trivializing serious issues
During a parliamentary hearing, KT Hammond expressed his desire to highlight his accomplishments on record, but he was only given two opportunities to do so. He then referred to a “big one” that he felt was being overlooked and stated that his colleague Kofi Buah would “go to hell” because of it. However, Agbodza, another member of parliament, interrupted and urged Hammond to take the hearing seriously and answer the questions posed to him. The committee chairman, Joseph Osei Owusu, also stepped in to redirect Hammond’s focus. Eventually, Hammond defended his reference to Buah and proceeded to give his response
