Batakarikeseɛ, the invincible war dress.
The Batakarikeseɛ is one of the military tunics (dress) of the Asantehene. The origins of the Batakarikeseɛ is a matter of secrecy.
The Batakarikeseɛ is fastened with some leather pouches which contain prayers and exhortations to GOD.
It is worn only on these occasions:
- During the enstoolment process of a new Asantehene.
- When the Asantehene performs a Grand Funeral (Ayikeseɛ).
- When the Asantehene himself leads a battle against enemy forces.
The Batakarikeseɛ is invincible and impregnable against all forms of military weaponry. Maybe, just maybe, the nuclear bomb is its weakness.
