Pollster Ben Ephson has expressed his belief that former President John Dramani Mahama will face a significant challenge in winning the 2024 presidential election, despite likely securing the flagbearership of the opposition National Democratic Congress. In an interview with Hello FM, Ephson stated that while Mahama is expected to win the NDC slot with ease, the general election will present him with difficulties.
Meanwhile, in the New Patriotic Party race, Ephson has predicted a resounding victory for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who he believes would have an advantage in winning over both Christian and Muslim voters. Speaking on Onua TV in April, Ephson stated that Bawumia’s candidacy would attract Christian voters who feel comfortable with him despite his Muslim faith, while also appealing to Muslim voters who have felt overlooked by the NDC. Overall, Ephson suggests that Bawumia would likely win the presidency if he is chosen as the NPP’s flagbearer.
