“Crucial Update: Change in Reopening Date for Form One Students”

Accra, Ghana – September 1, 2023; In a significant development, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the rescheduling of the reopening date for Form One students in Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools. This decision has been made in consideration of various factors, with the aim of ensuring a smooth start to the academic year.

Originally planned for September 18, 2023, the reopening date for Form One students has been postponed to September 25, 2023. This adjustment has been communicated to all Regional Directors of Education, who have been urged to promptly share this information with the Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools. It is of utmost importance for parents, guardians, and students to take note of this new date and make the necessary preparations accordingly.

The Ghana Education Service anticipates that this rescheduling will create a more favorable learning environment for Form One students, thus setting the stage for a successful academic year.

SHS 2

In light of this modification, SHS 2 students, in addition to SHS 3 students, are currently attending school and actively participating in their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). SHS 2 resumed classes on August 14, 2023, following a break that began on June 2, 2023. The academic year for these students is scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2023, marking the culmination of their academic endeavors for the year.
