Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Senior, a hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearership, has expressed his confidence that his son, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Junior, will emerge victorious in the party’s upcoming primaries and lead them into the 2024 elections. The former governor of the Bank of Ghana and finance minister during President Atta Mills’ regime believes that it is time for change within the party and that his son is ripe for the leadership role.
Although he did not confirm whether he was providing financial support to his son, Dr. Duffuor Senior stated that he fully supports his son and has blessed him to win the elections. The NDC is set to hold primaries on May 13th to elect representatives for some constituencies and their flagbearer.
Dr. Duffuor Junior will be competing against his uncle, current MP Alex Adomako-Mensah, for the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency. Meanwhile, Dr. Duffuor Senior is also in a flagbearership race with former President John Mahama and former KMA mayor Kojo Bonsu, with Mahama considered the favorite.
