“ECG Announces Nationwide Office Closure for One Month to Carry Out Massive Disconnection.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will be shutting down all its offices throughout the country for a month-long period starting from Monday, March 20, 2023, as part of a nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise.

The ECG stated that the exercise will focus on collecting overdue payments from all categories of customers, including State-Owned Enterprises. The Head office, Regional and District offices will be affected, except for Customer Service Centres (CSC), to ensure total participation by top management and staff.

Special teams will monitor the exercise and apprehend and prosecute customers who attempt to interfere with the process or illegally reconnect their electricity after disconnection.

The ECG has urged its customers to settle their bills promptly to avoid disconnection and payment of reconnection fees. Failure to do so will result in being arraigned before the Court of Law.
