Eric Edem Agbana, who emerged victorious in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries with 360 votes, has stated that he will protect his slim win, despite calls for a rerun by his closest contender who had 359 votes. Agbana has maintained that he won the election fairly and will not accept a rerun regardless of who calls for it. He emphasized that he will not allow anyone to steal his victory, and that there is a clear winner in the election.
Regarding the issue of two votes in his favour being rejected due to a missing stamp, Agbana explained that the ballots were not issued by him or his team, and that the serial numbers confirmed that they were taken from the booklet issued by the Electoral Commission (EC). He questioned how a candidate could be punished for this and reiterated that there will not be a rerun in Ketu North, as no individual can sabotage the mandate of the people.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has confirmed that the party has requested documents to resolve the impasse as quickly as possible.
