Former President Mahama declares 2024 election as “Do-or-Die,” “Boot-for-Boot” affair

Former President John Dramani Mahama has reportedly made comments during his campaign to be elected flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in which he stated that the upcoming 2024 election is a serious matter and not a joke. He encouraged NDC supporters to be extra vigilant at the polling stations and to ensure that the party wins. He also called on supporters to release their educated children to be trained by the party before the election.

Mahama’s use of the phrase “do-or-die” has been met with some controversy and criticism, with some saying that it promotes violence and is not conducive to peaceful elections. It is important for all political actors to prioritize peaceful and fair elections, and to refrain from using language that could incite violence or undermine democratic processes
