Fred Nuamah, a prospective National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West-Wuogon, has withdrawn from the race and extended his support to his friend John Dumelo.
In a letter to the NDC’s General Secretary, Nuamah conveyed his personal decision, emphasizing it was made after thorough consultations with key stakeholders and devoid of external influence. He highlighted the significance of a united front for the NDC in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Nuamah expressed his dedication to the NDC’s unity and the broader goal of supporting John Dramani Mahama’s project to uplift Ghana. He endorsed John Dumelo, another popular actor and TV personality, as the parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West-Wuogon and encouraged his supporters to rally behind Dumelo.
Nuamah thanked his numerous supporters at the branch, ward, and constituency levels for their unwavering dedication and expressed his admiration for their enthusiasm in working towards the NDC’s goals.
John Dumelo had contested in the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency in the previous general elections, and although the NDC had concluded parliamentary primaries nationwide, some constituencies, including Ayawaso West-Wuogon, were still pending.
