Starting on November 1, 2023, Ghana and South Africa will implement a 90-day visa waiver for individuals holding ordinary passports. This initiative was mutually agreed upon by both countries and was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. According to the statement released on a Friday, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration is pleased to announce that the Republic of Ghana and the Republic of South Africa have reached an agreement to waive visa requirements for ordinary passport holders.” The agreement will be in effect from November 1, 2023. Travelers with ordinary passports can transit, depart from, and stay in both countries for a total period of up to 90 days, without the need for work permits.
