The Health Minister of Ghana, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, has been summoned by Parliament to appear before the Health Committee in order to address the recent vaccine shortage in parts of the country. The Health Minister is expected to provide an explanation for the shortage, as well as outline the measures that have been taken to rectify the situation.
In a letter to the Health Minister, the Clerk of Parliament’s Health Committee requested his presence at an emergency meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will take place at Committee Room 1&2, New Administration Block, Parliament House. The Health Committee also requested the presence of heads and relevant officers from several institutions, including the Ghana Health Service, the National Health Insurance Authority, the Global Fund, the Ministry of Finance, and the Vaccine Control Programme
