In a display of remarkable integrity, Dela Anim, an unemployed man, stumbled upon a significant sum of money, exceeding GH¢100,000, in a polythene bag while riding in a taxi in Accra. Dela, speaking to an Adom FM presenter, recounted his discovery, explaining that he initially considered handing it over to the taxi driver but opted to personally ensure its safe return.
Dela, a resident of Nungua, had been en route to Abossey-Okai for a task when he encountered the bag of money around the Kokomlemle area. He resisted the temptation to touch the cash and decided to bring it to Adom FM, where it was later counted with the help of the station’s staff.
When asked why he didn’t keep the money, Dela attributed his decision to his Christian upbringing, emphasizing the importance of honesty and not taking what doesn’t belong to him. Despite his current unemployment and dependence on family support, he remained committed to his moral principles.
The actual amount found was not disclosed by the station, but an ID card bearing the name Esther Sackey was discovered among the belongings. The station is now making efforts to locate and return the money to its rightful owner.
