In a surprising twist, Ken Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has clarified that his recent criticism of bad strategists was not aimed at Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
His controversial comment garnered attention and sparked debates within political circles a few days ago.
During a campaign tour, Mr. Agyapong criticized certain individuals within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their poor strategic planning, which had a negative impact on the party’s image.
However, he emphasized that his remarks were not directed at Dr. Bawumia, as he highly regards him and believes he is an effective leader.
In an interview with Home Radio in the Upper West Region, Mr. Agyapong clarified that he was specifically addressing certain individuals, including one MP, within the party who continuously make unwise decisions that harm the NPP’s reputation.
He praised Vice President Bawumia for his strategic thinking and his ability to strategize effectively for the party and the country.
Despite his clarification, the Assin Central MP acknowledged that some members within the NPP do need to reassess their approaches.
He urged the party’s leadership to promptly identify and rectify these issues to ensure the party’s continued success.
Additionally, Mr. Agyapong expressed disappointment in the media for not always disseminating complete stories on issues.
He denied that any portion of his speech circulated about Dr. Bawumia was untrue.
