Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has denied endorsing a fellow flagbearer aspirant in the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming presidential primaries. He clarified via a disclaimer posted on his verified Twitter handle that his recent comments about the contributions and eligibility of Alan Kyerematen, the former trade minister, did not constitute an endorsement. Agyapong had praised Kyerematen’s years of service to the party and acknowledged his right to contest the primaries, but stated that his remarks should not be interpreted as an endorsement.
Agyapong’s camp also released a formal statement cautioning against attacks on his person due to his pronouncements on the campaign trail. The statement emphasized that Agyapong’s comments should not be misconstrued as an endorsement of any particular candidate, and urged all party members to maintain a respectful and constructive dialogue during the primaries
