Kennedy Agyapong attributes court victory to Kwesi Nyantakyi

Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region of Ghana, has dedicated his victory in a defamation case brought against him by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to former Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi. The Accra High Court dismissed the defamation suit brought by Anas and instead ordered him to compensate Kennedy Agyapong with ¢50,000. Kennedy Agyapong refused the compensation and dedicated his win to Nyantakyi, who was allegedly humiliated in Anas’s documentary. Anas had sued Agyapong for allegedly defaming him in his ‘Who watches the watchman’ counter-documentary, but the court ruled that Anas had failed to prove his case.
