Kingpin in ‘School Placement for Sale’ used to work at Education Ministry canteen – Kwasi Kwarteng.

The Education Ministry has rejected claims that the woman named Rachel, who acted as an intermediary in the documentary “School Placement for Sale,” is a staff member of the ministry. According to the spokesperson of the Education Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, Rachel used to work at the ministry’s canteen but was not employed by the ministry itself. However, Kwarteng acknowledged that anyone could have acted as a staff member and extorted money from parents. He emphasized that the heads of the Education Ministry and Director General of the Ghana Education Service were not involved in the fraudulent act. The majority of student placements are done through automatic placement, with the remainder divided equally between the school and the Education Service. School heads can accept students and send a message to the Service for approval.
