In Koforidua Asokore, Eastern Region, a tragic incident unfolded as Christopher Yaw, commonly known as Chris, approximately 30 years old, was discovered lifeless in his residence in what appears to be a case of suicide.
Police, who responded to the scene, found a suspected suicide note written in red ink, now in their custody. Chris’s lifeless body, found hanging in his bedroom, has been conveyed to the mortuary.
Considered a prosperous young man in the Koforidua Asokore neighborhood, Chris owned a self-built house, resided in one unit, and rented out others. Possessing multiple vehicles, he was regarded as successful in the community.
Recent observations from some neighbors suggested Chris had exhibited signs of depression in the past few days, expressing concerns about being haunted by spirits.
On the morning of the tragic discovery, neighbors grew suspicious when, by 10 am, Chris had not emerged from his room, and all his vehicles remained parked in the compound. The dog’s incessant barking heightened their concerns. Promptly alerting the police, they assisted in forcibly opening Chris’s apartment, leading to the grim discovery.
During a meticulous search, authorities uncovered the aforementioned suicide note in the room. The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Chris’s untimely demise.
Living alone and unmarried, according to tenants, Chris was known to be in a relationship with a woman with whom he shares a child. The suspected suicide note outlined Chris’s wish for his properties to be sold, with the proceeds directed to his mother. The community is left grappling with shock and unanswered questions as the investigation unfolds.
