Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a candidate for the flagbearer position in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that he does not support the LGBTQI+ community due to his conservative beliefs. He believes that such behavior should not be encouraged in Ghana, although he does not advocate for it to be criminalized.
During an appearance on Good Evening Ghana, Agyepong explained that he respects people’s rights but will not support behavior that goes against his conservative views. He also mentioned that the LGBTQI+ community should not be discriminated against or annihilated from the earth.
Agyepong stressed that Ghana has many other social issues to address, such as drug abuse, and it is the responsibility of leaders to lead by example and set the right standards for the youth. He emphasized that such behavior should not be condoned but discouraged in society.
