Just days after Afua Asantewaa Aduonum concluded her six-day sing-a-thon world record attempt, another Ghanaian has embarked on breaking a new Guinness World Record. As the clock struck midnight on the New Year, marking 2024, celebrations unfolded in various settings—some in places of worship, others in entertainment venues, and among friends and families.
Up in the north, chef Failatu Abdul Razak has initiated a quest to surpass the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. Her ambitious goal is a 120-hour cook-a-thon, taking place at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale. Initial videos from the state broadcaster, GTV, showcased Failatu and her assistants in a fully-equipped kitchen, enclosed in a glass showcase adorned with images of Chef Falila.
