Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, also known as Wode Maya, a popular YouTube blogger from Ghana, has lost his YouTube account due to a hacking incident. With over 1.2 million subscribers, Wode Maya is considered the Ghanaian content creator with the most subscribers, and is known for his vlogs promoting Africa. Unfortunately, on February 24, 2023, his account was hacked by a malware called ‘Microstrategy’ and all of his videos were deleted. Google has since terminated his account completely. Wode Maya has yet to comment on the situation, but this incident has impacted his livelihood as a digital content creator.
What Wode Maya said about YouTube earnings
In an interview with GhanaWeb TV’s Talkertainment, Wode Maya shared that creating content on YouTube can be a lucrative venture, with potential earnings of over $100,000 per month. He emphasized the importance of using social media wisely and highlighted the income-generating potential of YouTube, stating that as a YouTuber, one can earn anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000. Wode Maya also mentioned some of the real estate projects he has been able to undertake with the help of his YouTube earnings, and emphasized that he focuses on projects across different African countries, with the goal of promoting Africa to the world. Overall, Wode Maya considers himself a full-time YouTuber, and his earnings have enabled him to pursue real estate development projects throughout the continent
