“MPs from the NDC are experiencing significant losses – Dafeamekpor”

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, has disclosed that National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs are facing mounting pressure ahead of the upcoming primaries on May 13. He stated that he and other MPs are inundated with requests from constituents, many of which are personal, such as requests for sponsorship of education, naming ceremonies, donations towards funerals, building of school blocks, and medical expenses. Dafeamekpor believes that it is necessary to sponsor some of these requests to maintain good relationships with constituents. However, he also revealed that the pressure increases during political seasons, as people think politicians are under pressure to fulfill their demands. The MP referred to himself and other NDC MPs as “bleeding,” as they are currently spending heavily on such requests. The NDC is scheduled to hold its primaries on May 13, 2023, to elect a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates across various constituencies in the country.
