President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo arrived in Germany on February 16 aboard the presidential jet. His primary engagement in Germany was at the Munich Security Conference, where he participated in a panel discussion on South-North cooperation with Bill Gates and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief Kristalina Georgieva. During the conference’s Townhall meeting, Akufo-Addo emphasized the need to overcome the “them and us” mentality in politics, stating that solidarity is a fundamental requirement for cooperation between the south and the north. Georgieva also stressed the importance of striving for change and reaching out to partners. The panel discussion also included German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Ghana’s ambassador to Germany, Gina Blay, shared photos of the event on Twitter, captioning them as “Important deliberations at the Munich Security Conference President Akufo-Addo on stage with Bill Gates, IMF boss, Georgieva Kristlina, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz
