“NCA Boss announces the upcoming return of MTN Zone Bundle with revised charges”

The National Communications Authority (NCA) CEO, Joe Anokye, has announced that MTN Ghana’s Zone bundle will be reintroduced soon, following the submission of a revised version by the telecom operator that meets regulatory requirements. The suspension of the Data Zone bundle on April 5, 2023, was due to the bundle offer being reviewed in line with Significant Market Power (SMP) directives, which required that MTN Ghana’s offer not be the lowest-priced in the industry. MTN Ghana has been engaging and collaborating with the regulator to align with the revised DataZone bundle and reinstate it as soon as possible. The Data Zone bundle is a discounted 1-day validity bundle that customers can subscribe to via the Short Code 135. In a statement, MTN Ghana reassured its customers that it would continue to offer innovative and affordable products and services. During a press briefing on April 26, Mr Anokye stated that the NCA had approved the revised data zone bundle submitted by MTN, and that it would soon be available for customers
