“NDC Vows to Vigilantly Watch Voter Registration to Prevent EC and NPP Rigging”

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared its vigilant oversight of the ongoing limited voter registration despite their legal action against the Electoral Commission. On Tuesday, September 12, the NDC accused the Electoral Commission of imposing obstacles during the voter registration process in their strongholds.

This limited voter registration aims to enroll over 1.3 million individuals who have reached voting age since the last registration in 2020. The 21-day registration period began on September 12 and is slated to conclude on October 2.

Speaking to the press, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, assured that the party’s members would actively monitor the process to prevent any manipulation by the Electoral Commission. He stated, “We are fully prepared and concerned about the less privileged registrants who must bear the expenses and challenges of registering to vote. Currently, our agents and representatives are present in all 268 district offices of the Electoral Commission nationwide, actively observing the process. We are committed to thwarting any attempts by the EC and the NPP to manipulate the process and ensure a fair outcome.”
