Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is currently hosting its 56th Congregation to celebrate the graduation of students who completed their programmes in 2022. The event, which began on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, has seen a significant turnout of participants.
On the first day of the in-person session of the congregation, the Chancellor of the university, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, graced the occasion with his presence. The monarch of the Ashanti Kingdom was warmly received by academics and dignitaries as he arrived in a convoy of eight cars, including his Benz S class.
In a viral video, the Asantehene was seen stepping out of his luxurious vehicle, greeted by the sound of drumming and trumpets, and heading towards the Great Hall of KNUST. There, he was welcomed by some academics before proceeding into the hall for the 56th Congress.
The presence of the Asantehene at the event was a significant boost to the morale of the graduands and an affirmation of the university’s importance to the community. It was a memorable day for all who witnessed the event.
