A notorious gang leader known for terrorizing illegal miners in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region has been reportedly gunned down by unknown assailants. The slain gang leader, Agye Nyame Sulemana, also known as Sulley, was killed along with some members of his gang while on their way back from an operation. The incident was confirmed by Justin Afful, the Assembly Member of the Benso Electoral Area.
According to Afful, the gang had been terrorizing residents in his electoral area, blocking roads and robbing innocent people of their valuables with guns, knives, and other ammunition. The police had received a tip-off and intercepted the gang, leading to the death of Sulemana and minor injuries to other members of the gang. The police have arrested two other gang members who are currently in custody.
Meanwhile, the spouse of the slain gang leader, Maame Rejoice, has refuted reports that her husband was an armed robber and stated that she is yet to see his corpse. The police are yet to identify the assailants who gunned down the gang leader and his accomplices.
