Ghana Declares End to COVID-19 Pandemic as Restrictions are Lifted
After three years of battling the COVID-19 pandemic, Ghana has officially declared it over. President Akufo-Addo, in his final address on the measures taken to fight the virus, expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported the cause during these challenging times.
The global health emergency status of COVID-19 has also been lifted by the World Health Organization (WHO), signifying a significant milestone in the global fight against the virus.
President Akufo-Addo assured Ghanaians that the oppressive restrictions put in place to curb the spread of the virus can now be safely lifted. He emphasized that “this too has passed” and conveyed his appreciation to the citizens for their resilience and adherence to health measures.
As a reflection of the improving situation, the COVID-19 health declaration form for international travelers to Ghana has been suspended, further easing travel requirements.
With the pandemic declared over, Ghana looks towards a future of recovery and rebuilding, focusing on restoring normalcy and continuing efforts to strengthen the healthcare system.
