“Russia’s Evolving Foreign Policy: A New Approach towards Africa”

Russia has released an updated foreign policy document that outlines its plans to consolidate its position on the global stage, with a focus on strengthening relations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In particular, Russia aims to combat neo-colonial tendencies in Africa, which it sees as a threat to development.

The document was compiled and presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and signed by President Vladimir Putin. It highlights Russia’s desire to develop within the framework of a multipolar world and introduces the concept of “Anglo-Saxon countries,” which will be treated according to their willingness to abandon unfriendly policies towards Russia.

In Africa, Russia intends to support the establishment of the continent as a center of world development and prioritize the sovereignty and independence of interested African states. This includes assistance in areas such as security, food, energy, and military cooperation.

According to Andrey Koshkin, chief of a political sciences department at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Africa is increasingly looking to interact with China and Russia, which is making Western countries nervous. He believes that Moscow should offer new forms of coexistence to build relations with Africa.

The document emphasizes that Russia will base its relations with other countries on their policies towards Moscow and defend its right to development. President Putin has endorsed the document, making it the official working document of the Russian Federation.
