Sam Nartey George, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, has advised his party members in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to be disturbed by recent remarks made by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong.
After leading a march called “Walk to Build A Better Ghana” with a large number of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters at Mpreaso-Kwahu in the Eastern Region on Saturday, April 8, 2023, Bryan Acheampong stated that the NPP will never relinquish power to the opposition NDC in 2025.
He warned that if the NDC resorts to threats and violence in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, the NPP will demonstrate that they have the “men” to deal with them.
“If the NDC attempts to use threats, violence, and stupidity in the 2024 election, their party will collapse. We’ll let them know that we have the men. We’ll show them that we have the men. We have the men. It’ll never happen that we, the NPP, will stand on a platform to hand over power to the NDC. We’ll ensure that the NPP stays in government at all costs,” Acheampong, who also represents Abetifi in parliament, remarked.
Reacting to this on Facebook on Sunday, April 9, 2023, Sam George urged the NDC not to be distracted by “scarecrows and hype simpletons” like Bryan Acheampong.
He reminded the party’s supporters that they are the offspring of “revolutions” and cannot be intimidated by someone who underwent a “6-month military course” in the United States of America.
“We are worried about the rantings of scarecrows and hype simpletons who have become cult figures, such as Bryan Acheampong and Joe Anokye.
“Can we return to the old days? We are the children of a revolution! Can we call out these impostors and dare them to try? How can individuals who took a six-month Military Course now threaten the NDC? Let’s stop glorifying people who don’t deserve our attention and focus on what we need to do,” Sam George’s post to NDC supporters stated
