On Sunday, November 12, 2023, at approximately 7:20 am, parts of Accra experienced a brief earth tremor. Lasting only a few seconds, the tremor induced panic among residents, leading many to hastily evacuate their homes in Weija, a suburb of Accra. Reports also surfaced from residents in Mallam, Gbawe, SCC, and Bortianor, all confirming the occurrence of the earth tremor on Sunday morning. Fortunately, there have been no injuries or property damage reported. However, individuals who felt the tremor took to social media, including X (formerly Twitter), to share their experiences. Several residents shared their accounts with CitiNewsroom, with one stating, “I was sitting in my living room when I felt the house start to shake.” Another resident mentioned, “I was cooking in the kitchen when I felt a shaking,” and a third resident reported, “I was in bed when I felt the shaking.”
