SHS Placement | MoE announces Senior High School Placement release date for BECE candidates

Owing to the fact that West African Examination Council has released the examination results for candidates who sat for the most recent edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination, the Ministry of Education has announced a release date for the Senior High School placement.

ccording to MoE, it is working around the clock to make sure that the Computerized School Selection and Placement System Portal is ready for the release of school placement for BECE candidates.

It has been confirmed that two weeks after the release of the BECE results by WAEC, placement into Senior High Schools in Ghana for year one students will be made available by the Ministry of Education.

According to the academic calendar released by the Ghana Education Service, Form one students are expected to report school on February 20, 2023.

For this reason, the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, Free Senior High School Secretariat and Computerized School Selection and Placement System, opened the 21st century STEM School Selection Portal.

The portal gives access to the list of new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Senior High Schools included in the School Selection and placement process for BECE students.

It also provides information on available STEM programs and their career pathways.

The portal further gives details of existing Senior High Schools that offers STEM programs in the country.

Students with an interest in pursuing strictly STEM programs are encouraged to visit stem-ssp.com.gh to select their preferred schools and corresponding programs.

It is however worth noting that, the choices made using this portal will take precedence over initial school selection by students.

1. Visit stem-ssp.com.gh
2. Click ‘register here’
3. Enter the details below;

• First name
• Last name
• School index number
• Active phone number
• Preferred password

4. Click ‘register’.

   • Click ‘start selection’
   • Input student ID (phone number or email) used during the registration
   • Enter your password
   • Click ‘login’
   • Select your preferred school(s)
