Sophia Akuffo’s response to Gabby was commendable and appropriate – NDC MP

Dr Clement Apaak, Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has praised former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo for her response to lawyer Gabby Otchere Darko’s criticism of her participation in a pensioners’ picket at the Finance Ministry. The pensioners were demanding to be excluded from the domestic debt exchange program.

According to Dr Apaak, Madam Akuffo’s response to Otchere Darko was appropriate and showed her bravery and patriotism. He also commended her for speaking as a statesman.

Gabby Otchere Darko had criticized Madam Akuffo for joining the pensioners in their picket, but she responded by saying that she does not exchange words with “pinned brains”. She also emphasized that the pensioners were human beings who had served the country well and deserved to have their concerns addressed.

Dr Apaak supported Madam Akuffo’s stance and highlighted the challenges facing Ghana, including reckless borrowing, lack of diligence in resource allocation, and mismanagement of the economy. He also criticized the government’s failure to respond to the pensioners’ concerns despite their peaceful picket.
