Mystery Surrounds Consecutive Accidents Involving Tolon Constituency’s MP and Opponent
A puzzling situation unfolded in the northern region as two significant political figures found themselves in accidents only hours apart. On Sunday, October 29, 2023, Hon. Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament for the Tolon constituency and Deputy Majority Whip, was involved in an accident. The incident occurred as part of his advance team’s journey to Cheriponi in the North East region, where they were preparing for the arrival of Vice President H. E. Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, as a part of his flag bearership campaign tour scheduled for November 4, 2023.
When contacted, Hon. Habib confirmed the accident but denied claims that he, his driver, and bodyguard were injured during the morning incident. The Vice President was set to visit all six constituencies in the North East region, commencing on Sunday, October 29, and culminating on Monday, October 30, 2023.
In an intriguing turn of events, the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Tolon Constituency, Dr. Osman Damba, and his team were also involved in an accident on the Nyanpkala Tolon road on the same day but managed to escape unscathed.
