The Founder and CEO of Semanhyia Learning and Development Farms, Fredrick Benneh Frimpong, revealed that he’s facing a dilemma as the chiefs in Berekum Senase have instructed him to remove his goats from the land within two weeks. This directive stems from a long-standing taboo in the area that prohibits goats from residing in the town. Despite the taboo existing since his childhood, it gained enforcement after a recent chief’s funeral led to the slaughter of stray goats.
Fredrick expressed frustration over the situation, narrating how a group of young individuals with machetes killed all the goats in the community in response to the chiefs’ order. He recounted being summoned to the chief’s palace and informed about the evacuation requirement. This development puts his investments of the past five years, including warehouses, livestock, feed, and labor, at risk of being lost. Fredrick now finds himself at a crossroads, grappling with the potential downfall of his farming facility.
