Volta 4 Change vrs Kevin Taylor..
After the NPP had tried so many traditional strategies to woo votes from the stronghold of the NDC in previous elections, a visionary political strategist devised new ways to penetrate into the heart of the Volta Region.
This gave birth to Volta 4 Change Pressure Group and the ever vibrant Loyal Ladies Volta Chapter. These two Groups in tandem with the local NPP structures galvanized the grassroots support base of the party in the region. It unearthed harboured issues of neglect by the then Mahama government in terms of development and the fact that being surrounded by appointees from the Volta region didn’t necessarily, translate into tangible projects back home.
The benefits that the NPP raked in from the focused door-to-door campaign went beyond the borders of the NDC’s stronghold and ushered in new votes from the various Ewe Communities across the country. A whiff of it sustained the atmosphere around Hon. Peter Amewu and eventually, delivered the Hohoe Seat.
That’s how parties strategize to earn votes from the stronghold of their opponents..
With the case of the second comeback of John Mahama and Ashanti votes.. what do we see
Mistrust of Asantes in the NDC at national and regional level is so palpable that, it has led to natives having been ‘chased’ of the party’s regional structures. The party’s policy to dwell on ‘settlers’ to operate in the region, has created a disconnection that some are even clamouring for violence to be unleashed on anybody deemed as an opponent in the region.
Then, there’s Kevin Taylor’s fruitless strategy..
“Mmoaa Asantes..”
“Asantes are the major cause of Ghana’s problems..”
“Asantes are tribalist..”
“I grew up in Obuasi and worked in Kumasi for a while so, i have earned the right to say nonsense about them..”
“Asante foɔ this, Asante foɔ that..”
He thinks his simplistic blackmailing and constant insults hurled at Asantes would inure to John Mahama’s benefit in the eyes of his tribally-hypnotized audience.
Own goals being piled up kɛkɛ !
Lazy man.
