Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Nana Agyeman Badu II, addresses the injunction preventing his attendance at the funeral of the late paramount chief of Berekum Traditional Area, Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II.
Nana Agyeman Badu II was reportedly barred by the Sunyani High Court from taking part in the burial rites of the late Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II. This legal action stemmed from concerns raised by Osabarima Kyere Yeboah Darteh II of the Berekum Traditional Council, citing the risk of peace disruptions due to conflicting attendance plans during the burial.
Reports indicate that the Dormaahene’s plan to attend the burial simultaneously with Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, led to legal intervention to prevent potential clashes. In a widely circulated video sighted by priningonline , Dormaahene disclosed that he received advice from the Minister for National Security and the Minister for Chieftaincy against attending the funeral. Despite not being perturbed by the situation, he expressed a lasting memory of the events, stating that he, in time, would hold significance for the people of Berekum.
