Ya-Na Urges Kennedy Agyapong to Refrain from Divisive Comments and Focus on Policy-Based Campaigning

King Ya-Na Abubakari of Dagbon has advised NPP Presidential hopeful, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, to refrain from making statements that incite division against Northerners. The King expressed his concern about such political conduct that portrays Northerners as second-class citizens during a meeting when Kennedy Agyapong paid a courtesy visit to the Gbewaa palace to announce his presence in Dagbon.

King Ya-Na responded to Agyapong’s comment about the 2024 elections, stating, “I have heard you ask why the 2024 elections should be about Northerners. It was an unfortunate comment. I urge you to avoid such remarks and focus your campaign on issues. You should be ready to support whomever the party chooses.”

In response, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong pledged to conduct a campaign free from tribalism. He also mentioned fulfilling a promise to provide a pickup to King Ya-Na, as he had pledged during the 2020 elections.

The presidential aspirant’s visit to the region aims to secure the support of party delegates in preparation for the crucial November 4 elections.
